Cart45© Wins First E-commerce Mandate for Online Wine Company Slurp.co.uk

Cart45© owner SoapyCo Limited today announced that it had signed an agreement to power the second generation website for the fast-growing online wine company Slurp.co.uk. The mandate is an exciting development for Cart45©, because Slurp management decided to jettison their existing Actinic-based platform in favour of the new product from SoapyCo. The new platform is now powering the entire slurp.co.uk website, including its new Instant Expert tagging system and an improved customer check-out facility.

Slurp Managing Director Paul Mitchell outlined the rationale for the switch from Actinic to Cart45©:

“Our Actinic system functioned adequately at a basic level, but we felt that its search engine optimisation (SEO) limitations were really holding our company back. Our many product pages were not well indexed, and some of the newer functionality that we wanted to introduce, such as tagging for our ‘Instant Expert’ feature was not possible with our existing system.

We have also found Cart45© to be much easier to customise, which is important for a business like ours with hundreds of product lines that are constantly changing and being updated. We now have full control of our website’s appearance with CSS. There is no more messing around changing tens or possibly hundreds of files just to change the site’s look.

The increased SEO sophistication of the Cart45© platform has already had an impact on our search rankings. We have gone from nowhere to a much more prominent position in many of our target search results.”

SoapyCo CEO Andy Etches said:

“We are thrilled to have Slurp.co.uk as our first major customer. Slurp is a very far-sighted company that is clearly going to be a major force in online wine sales in the UK. To have them select our product is exciting and vindicates the huge effort we have put into designing and e-commerce platform which weaves together all the elements a merchant needs to run a world class e-business today.”
